Another day, another coupla bucks.

Hey, you! How goes it? Nothing exciting over here to report. Another regular workday spent helping customers, sending emails and monitoring tennis matches as I work (sssh, don't tell the boss). Tennis as you probably know already, is one of my biggest passions. I hit at least 3 websites everyday to see what's new, who's in, who's injured and who's winning. I'm addicted, it's true. Last weekend, Maria (Sharapova: my favorite, remember?) won her first clay court tournament, which is an ominous sign for the rest of the girls in the field. She's won more than a few tournaments on hard courts and grass, but never on clay. The fact that she's now won a championship on the mostly unpopular surface bodes well for her run to the French Open title, which is the biggest clay court honor you can snatch.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to playing some tennis this summer myself. The question will be who am I gonna get to get out on the court with me. I don't have many people close to me that are very active. Jeremy doesn't even really like to watch tennis, let alone swing at any balls (giggling). And he's not the most active person in the world, although he'll be quick to say that's not true. Jared is by no means active, although he has committed to going out on the court with me some this summer. We'll see about that. When we had our roommate, Jacob, he would go out and hit with me.
That was fun. I'll find somebody if I have to put an add in the paper!

Meanwhile, my birthday is inching closer and closer and I got awesome news today. My sister called and gave me the flight information for her trip down for my party! I'm too excited! This is shaping up to be quite a memorable event. Even if not too many people come, at least the people who are important to me will be there. I know my friends will be in the house, and now my sister and nephew, too!? It's gonna be a blast. It's gonna be the first time that I've had such a variety of people I know all together; co-workers, friends from different groups and family too. Wow; awesomeness! It's less than 3 weeks away too. If only Beverly and Steve could come up from Texas, too. That would be too much!

So, I've gotten Janet's video down cold now and I've moved on to the next video. I was very impressed with the dance steps for Usher's "Love in this club", so that's my next work-out project. It's really nice after I've danced for that half hour cause I can actually see some muscle starting to come through again through all the fat! lol.... I definitely see progress, but there's still some pooch to go. Between the tennis, the dancing, and the contant consumation of salads, I should be lean again in no time.

Saturday night we've got game night at Dorrie's house. She lives in our neighborhood, more or less, so we won't have to drive very far. That's usually a lotta fun. We spend more time drinking and laughing than we do actual game-playing, but there is a lot of that which goes on, too. Last weekend, Jeremy and I double-dated with a guy he met through his Landmark Forum and his partner. They turned out to be really nice guys. I guess it was easy for all of us since we were all Landmark graduates. We got along pretty well. We went to this spendy restaurant in St. Paul (where they live) to start the evening off. It was called Il Vesco Vino. Was very good food, but as JJ and I are on a budget, it was not the best selection for dinner. But as we don't go out to that caliber restaurant very much, I suppose we were due to splurge once (although, I didn't).

Afterwards, we headed out to one of the gay clubs there called Camp. It was an especially good time. The music was tight! I loved it. It's the first time on a dance floor here in Minnesota that I've heard Kylie Minogue, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and Madonna! It was nice. The atmosphere is very "campy", which I love. They got disco balls over the bar, mannequin heads with campy wigs from different gay movies on the walls, a la "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert", and they show old black and white movies (no audio, of course) while the music is pumping. I really liked it. If it wasn't so far, I'd probably be going a lot. And Jamie and Curt, our new friends, loosened up after some drinks. They even dance!! I was impressed. A lotta people these days don't dance. I love to dance, so when they asked me to take the floor with them, I was thinking "Hmmmm, nice".

We made tentative future plans with our new buddies to go camping. We even talked about taking a trip to Mount Rushmore which I found out is about 6 hours or so from here; that's about the distance to Chicago, right? Well, anyway, they said they were big campers and we're planning to invite them to our big camp-out in June in Wisconsin. That reminds me; Jeremy is supposed to be sending out an evite for that thing! That boy would forget his name if he didn't have a badge that told him who he was! LOL...ooh, that was a funny one. I'll prolly get a good slapping for that one later, but oh well....the laugh was worth it.

Well, I'm gonna leave you with this thought provoking question.....what if the "hokey pokey" is really what it's all about? Hmmmmmmm........
